Flexible workers put in longer hours, say City executives

City professionals with flexible schedules tend to work longer hours, senior executives in the financial services sector have warned.

Flexible working has led to a “new presenteeism” where more employees are answering calls or replying to emails outside work hours, City heavyweights told a Treasury Committee evidence session on June 12.
