Evercore Partners has hired former Bank of America Merrill Lynch co-head of global energy and power investment banking Laurie Coben, according to people familiar with the matter.

Coben will join Evercore after a period of "gardening leave," one of the people said. She left Bank of America last month, according to an internal memo reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.
