A former Barclays Global Investors executive is joining investment consultant Watson Wyatt to become a member of a top-level strategy team led by global head Roger Urwin.

Chris Sutton resigned in March as chief executive of BGI's iShares Europe division, where he led the development of its exchange traded funds initiative. In 14 years at BGI Sutton has also served as a director and head of its global index and markets group.
