A senior trader who left BlackRock earlier this year has joined a former colleague at outsourced trading firm Linear Investments, which is seeing an increase in interest as fund managers look to reduce the cost of running dealing functions.

Felix Mason, a former managing director at BlackRock and head of its London equity trading desk, has joined Linear as part of a team that carries out trades for smaller and medium-sized asset managers and hedge funds.
