Former executives from Cazenove and New Star Asset Management have set up a business for out-of-work analysts, amid increasing pressure on banks’ research divisions from new European trading rules.

John Carrick Smith and James Ridgewell will launch Hiddensee Research later in April to help analysts who have left large investment banks but still want to make use of their sector knowledge to produce investment research for sale.
