Former Citi banker claims group is ‘institutionally ageist’

A former senior executive at Citi is suing the US bank for more than £9.7m over allegations the company is “institutionally ageist”.

Niels Kirk, who worked at Citi for 26 years, latterly as chair of the bank’s Europe, Middle East and Africa energy and natural resources group, claims he was discriminated against because of his age after he was made redundant in 2017.
