Former City minister Paul Myners dies aged 73

Lord Paul Myners of Truro, the former City minister who was brought in by Gordon Brown’s Labour government to tackle the fallout from the financial crisis, has died aged 73.

A family statement, first reported in The Guardian, said Myners “passed away peacefully” at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, west London, in the early hours of 16 January.
