Italian investment bank Mediobanca has hired Sir António Horta-Osório as an adviser, the first role for the Portuguese banker since his departure from Credit Suisse after just nine months as chair.

Horta-Osório will work with Mediobanca executives on rolling out its strategy, the firm said in a statement, with a particular focus on working with its co-heads of corporate and investment banking, Francisco Bachiller and Giuseppe Baldelli, on the expansion of the unit.
