The former personal assistant of Scott Mead, head of telecoms and media investment banking at Goldman Sachs, has been charged with stealing £2.6m (€4m) from her boss.

Joyti De-Laurey appeared before City of London Magistrates on Monday after being arrested last month. She is alleged to have transferred the money from two of Mead's personal bank accounts into an account at the Bank of Cyprus.
