A startup born on Wall Street has made a big hire to capitalise on opportunities in Europe

Former Instinet boss goes full-time fintech

The former European chief executive of Instinet, the agency brokerage owned by Nomura, has taken on a full-time leadership role at a financial technology company backed by JPMorgan and Michael Spencer's NEX Group.

Adam Toms, who left Instinet after more than four years in charge in May 2016, has joined OpenFin, a startup also backed by Bain Capital Ventures, DRW Venture Capital, Nyca Partners and Pivot Investment Partners.
