Former Lloyds boss denies ‘selling’ HBOS takeover to board

The former chief executive of Lloyds Banking Group has denied he was “selling” the bank’s crisis-era deal to acquire stricken rival HBOS to his board.

Eric Daniels was speaking during his third day of testimony in a £550m case brought by a group of 5,800 shareholders against Lloyds and five of its former directors.
