Gottex Fund Management, the Zurich-listed funds of hedge funds manager, has pulled off a coup by hiring the former Americas chief investment officer at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, which was merged into BlackRock in 2006.

Brian Fullerton was at Merrill Lynch until the merger was completed in September of that year. In addition to his Americas CIO role he sat on the company's executive committee, its senior governing body.
