Simon Pilcher, the former head of M&G’s fixed income and alternatives business, has been hired as the new chief executive of investments for the Universities Superannuation Scheme, the UK’s largest pension fund.

He will join USS in early October, the scheme said on May 20, succeeding Roger Gray, who announced his planned retirement in February.
