Former Nomura adviser starts boutique venture

John St John, one of the best known bankers in the European equities market, has formed a high-level equity advisory boutique a month after leaving Nomura, where he had held an advisory role in its London equity underwriting business since 2006.

St John, who had been employed as a part-time consultant to Nomura International with the official title of chairman of equity capital markets, left Nomura last month and is ramping up his advisory business STJ Advisors, which he founded last year with former Nomura colleague Jonathan Berger.
