Former Stewart Investors and Fidelity staffers launch new venture

New boutique promises a responsible-investment twist on investing in emerging markets

A team of seven former analysts and portfolio managers at Stewart Investors and Fidelity International have launched a new funds boutique — promising a responsible-investment twist on investing in emerging markets.

Ashish Swarup, lead portfolio manager on a range of emerging-markets funds run by Stewart Investors, and his co-manager Tom Allen, who resigned last October, are taking their partnership to the new firm. It is named Aikya Investment Management, after the sanskrit word for “oneness”.
