Robey Warshaw has made its first-ever external partner hire since launching over seven years ago — the former UK chancellor George Osborne, who has given up a host of executive appointments to become a full-time investment banker.

Osborne is set to join Robey Warshaw as a partner and full-time mergers and acquisitions investment banker, according to a spokesperson for the bank. The move means that Osborne will leave his positions at fund manager BlackRock and at London’s Evening Standard.
