Fortis Bank Nederland, the Dutch branch of Fortis Bank, has named Sjoerd van Keulen as chairman of the board of directors.

Van Keulen, who succeeds Erik van de Merwe, is also a member of the management committee of Fortis Bank. Fortis said van de Merwe left in October to join a competitor, but the bank was unable to provide further information.
