Citigroup and Merrill Lynch have won the mandate to lead the £3bn (€4.4bn) initial public offering of Debenhams, the UK's second largest department store, expected in May.

Debenhams has appointed Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley as joint bookrunners on the deal.
