French companies dress up for suitors

Management teams in French target companies are starting to hire their own financial advisers to make themselves more attractive to private equity bidders.

This is part of an increasing trend whereby business practices first witnessed in the UK – and often copied from the US – spread to continental Europe with a time lag of 18 to 24 months.
