Freshfields and Bruckhaus Westrick Heller Löber have joined the legal consolidation race, and the two firms will merge their operations on August 1.

Alan Peck, chief executive of Freshfields and future chief executive of the merged firm, said that the merger will give the firms a much-needed boost, particularly to their cross-border capabilities.
