FSA cracks down hard on former Credit Suisse management

The Financial Services Authority (FSA), the UK regulator, has imposed its largest individual fine on a senior executive and has also banned two former Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) senior managers accused of improper dealings in Japan.

Christopher Goekjian, ex-CEO of CSFB, then Credit Suisse Financial Products (CSFP), is the most high-profile casualty. He was fined a record £150,000 (€216,000) for failing to supervise his staff who deliberately mislead the Japanese tax authority (NTA) from 1995 to1998.
