Investors using the internet chat rooms to talk up share prices in the hope of making a quick killing could come under the watchdog's gaze, reports The Daily Telegraph.

City regulator the Financial Services Authority (FSA) has set up an e-commerce team to investigate how to regulate the internet, as its popularity as a medium for share tips booms.
