FSA warned of over-regulation

Donald Brydon, chairman of the practitioners' panel that advises the UK's Financial Services Authority on regulatory issues, has called on the regulator to avoid burdening the financial industry.

Both Brydon and Howard Davies, outgoing FSA chairman, voiced concern over the regulation of Treasury-backed investment products that were put forward in a government report by Ron Sandler, former chief operating officer of NatWest Bank.
