FSA wins first criminal case

In the first criminal prosecution to be brought in the name of the Financial Services Authority (FSA), Paul Haslam, a former Birmingham-based chartered accountant, has been found guilty of fraud.

Birmingham Crown Court has sentenced Haslam to nine months imprisonment for 11 offences relating to section 35 of the Banking Act of 1987.
