FTSE 100 breaks 8-day winning streak ahead of US jobs report

UK stocks slipped from a record close on Friday, with precious metals miners leading the charge south as gold prices pulled back from this week’s rally.

Investors were also hesitant of making any moves ahead of the closely watched US non-farm payrolls report, which is seen as shaping the Federal Reserve’s future interest rate decisions. A disappointing jobs report could scale back expectations for three rate increases in 2017.
