European stocks fall amid US-North Korea tensions

Stoxx Europe 600 on track for worst week since before the US election as the two nations engage in a standoff

European stocks fall amid US-North Korea tensions

European stocks were shoved lower Friday, heading for their worst weekly loss in nine months, as the war of words between the US and North Korea prompted investors to back away from assets perceived as risky, MarketWatch reports.

The Stoxx Europe 600 lost 1.1% to 372.04. No sector moved higher. Oil and gas, tech and basic materials shares were losing the most.
