Fund assets continue to decline in first quarter

Global mutual funds assets declined by 2.4% to $10.8 trillion (€9.2 trillion) during the first quarter of 2003, according to Cerulli Associates, the US research and strategic consulting firm.

The decline was generalised across most asset classes, but equities continue to be badly hit and fell by 5.8% in the first quarter as poorly performing stock markets take their toll.
