City fund groups risk losing business over poor ethnic diversity

UK asset managers have for years struggled to bolster their number of ethnic minority employees, despite pledges from senior executives in the wake of George Floyd’s murder in May 2020 to improve diversity across the ranks.

Now investment firms recognise it is an issue that could thwart their ability to win new business, with pension funds and other heavyweight investors warning they will shun fund groups with poor ethnic diversity.
