Fund managers are expecting yet more political turmoil after Boris Johnson narrowly survived a no-confidence vote, as the prime minister continues to fend off critics in his own party over the coming months.

“Politics appears to have entered another volatile stage in the UK with yesterday’s vote,” Richard Knight, a portfolio manager at Allianz Global Investors told Financial News. “Although Johnson won the vote, the scale of the rebellion is quite striking and could potentially spell a change of prime minister or even an early general election,”
