Despite the current gloom, global equity funds gained $1.48bn (€1.24bn) last week, making good some of the losses of $20bn seen in the last full week of May.

Post-2006 cumulative flows into equity funds are still on an improving trend compared to early 2009 (see chart) although western European equity funds are marking time.
