Funding Circle short-sellers cash in as stock hits new lows

The peer-to-peer lender’s shares have halved in value since floating in September 2018

Fund managers betting against the shares of peer-to-peer lending firm Funding Circle are cashing in their bets, as the stock hit new lows of around 217p yesterday.

Funding Circle staged a £1.5bn float on the London Stock Exchange in September 2018. At the time, its shares were priced at 440p, meaning they have halved in value over the past seven months.
