Asset managers are expecting Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to rise above the low bar set by his short-lived predecessor Liz Truss on delivering the UK’s green agenda, but it remains unclear how this will mesh with his promises to cut costs.

During her 44-day reign, Truss managed to alienate the ESG investment community by lifting the ban on fracking and giving the green light for more oil and gas exploration in the North Sea.
