Futures exchange chiefs slam single clearing plan

The heads of Euronext.Liffe and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange have spoken out strongly against the creation of a single pan-European clearing house.

Liffe chief executive, Hugh Freedberg, and the CME's chief executive, Craig Donohue, were speaking at the annual International Derivatives Week conference hosted by the UK's Futures and Options Association and the US' Futures Industry Association. Their comments came amid mounting disagreement over the future of the European post-trade infrastructure landscape.
