Gartmore Investment Management is set to open an office in Milan to expand its presence in Italy, and has appointed Nicola Meotti from ING Investment Management to be country manager.

Meotti will be responsible for developing the firm's business with Italian institutional investors, commercial banks, private bankers and other bancassurance distributors.
