Gartmore Investment Management has made two senior appointments to bolster its hedge fund of funds business and is also planning to launch new funds.

John Gallaher has been hired from DB Absolute Return Strategies, the hedge fund unit of Deutsche Bank, as a managing director for product development at Gartmore Riverview. The US-based specialist fund of hedge funds business was bought by Gartmore in June.
