Gartmore Investment Management, the UK fund management firm, wants to expand its global bond product range into absolute return strategies and has hired top bond manager Peter Allwright from Royal London Asset Management.

Allwright joins Gartmore as a senior investment manager on its fixed income team. He will explore absolute return strategies in global fixed income to create a total return product to add to Gartmore's bond funds.
