Gartmore has launched the first actively managed unit trust to invest mainly in UK technology companies.

The UK Techtornado Fund will invest in UK companies involved in telecommunications, biotechnology, computer software, information technology, media, electronic and electrical supports services. These could include the likes of ARM, Filtronic, Shire Pharmaceuticals and London Bridge.
