Morgan Stanley Investment Management has hired Kristina Ilar from Gartmore Investment Management to head its push into the Nordic region.

Ilar, who ran the Nordic team at Gartmore, will be based in London and will be responsible for all institutional sales and business development for the Nordic region. A source close to the asset management arm of Morgan Stanley said that it might open an office in Stockholm to give it a local presence.
