General Atlantic makes ex-JP Morgan hire

Private equity firm General Atlantic has hired David Topper, a former vice chairman of JP Morgan's investment banking division, as a special advisor. Topper will be working with the firm's portfolio group and with portfolio company management teams on specific projects. He was previously chairman of ECM and chairman of the commitments committee at JP Morgan in addition to serving as vice chairman of investment banking. Topper is currently a member of several boards including the board of the Duke University Trinity College of Arts and Sciences and the board of trustees of the Jewish Museum of New York.
