There’s a lot at stake financially in the UK budget today. Not least for the bookmakers, who will be hoping that Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne’s speech passes without incident.

Ladbrokes is offering odds of 50/1 that Osborne will produce a 50p from his pocket during the speech - presumably to illustrate the expected elimination of the 50% top rate of income tax.
