German corporate tax reforms agreed

Wide-sweeping tax reforms that could pave the way for more corporate restructuring and disposals in Germany have been approved by the country's upper house of parliament.

The plans were initially announced in January and were greeted with surprise by many bankers, who had viewed the German government as largely inflexible on corporate taxation matters.
