German debt to meet EU convergence threshold

The German economy will finally reduce its public debt enough this year to meet the EU convergence threshold, three years after the original deadline, according to a new report.

In its annual report on Germany's economy, Moody's, the debt rating agency, predicted that the country's public debt-to-GDP ratio should meet the EU threshold of 60% for the first time.
