German domination takes Goldman to ECM top spot

US bank moves to top spot in the European ECM rankings for the first quarter, thanks to a more than 50% share of the busy German market

Goldman Sachs is set to end the first quarter as the number one bookrunner in the European equity capital markets, thanks in large part to the work of its block trading team.

The US bank has a 15.5% of Europe's ECM market, according to Dealogic, making it the number one bookrunner in the region for the first quarter to date. Goldman Sachs is also in top spot globally with a 12.5% market share.
