German parliament to vote on hedge fund laws

The finance committee of the German Parliament has approved new investment rules designed to kick-start the underdeveloped German hedge fund industry, clearing the way for single manager funds to be sold for the first time.

Members of opposition parties on the committee approved changes to draft legislation made by the ruling Social Democrats-Green coalition that will make it possible for German investment houses to sell single hedge funds to wealthy individuals.
