A Frankfurt funds boutique has lost a senior portfolio manager from its alternative solutions division to the risk funds concepts division of Germany's oldest private bank amid growing demand for options-based absolute return strategies.

Richard Luu, who has been at boutique Lupus Alpha since early 2004 will join Berenberg, the bank, on January 2 to head a part of its seven-strong reduced risk funds concepts division.
