Wolfgang Schäuble is expected to step down as Germany’s finance minister and could become president of Germany’s lower house of parliament, the Bundestag, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Schäuble’s conservative Christian Democratic party is expected to nominate him today as Bundestag president, the equivalent of parliamentary speaker in other countries, according to several officials familiar with the matter.
