Norway’s $1tn investment giant rules out private equity

Norway's government has been considering whether to add private equity investments to the world's largest sovereign wealth fund's remit

After a year of deliberation, Norway's government has decided against allowing its enormous oil fund to invest in private equity.

Norway's finance ministry said it based the decision on the costs associated with investing in private equity and the lack of transparency in the asset class.
