UK asset manager Gartmore's former head of distribution, who was instrumental in its buyout by private equity firm Hellman & Friedman, has left the firm.

Paul Feeney left the firm on Wednesday. He joined Gartmore in 2002 and was responsible for the UK retail business before taking on the whole retail side. For the last 18 months he ran the entire distribution division.
