Globex drives CME to record-breaking results

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange said today that first-quarter volumes, revenues and profits hit records in the first three months of this year driven by electronic trading on its Globex platform which now accounts for almost 70% of total trading.

Revenues rose 23% to $263m (€212m) on which the CME earned profits of $91m, up 19% on the same period a year ago.
