GMT Communications Partners, the private equity firm which specialises in the communications sector, has hired Jonathan Gillbanks as a vice president in the firm's London investment team.

Gillbanks has previously worked with GMT in an advisory capacity to PEPcom, a German cable television company in GMT's portfolio. He has worked in investment banking and in advisory roles in the communications sector for 11 years, most recently at Lehman Brothers, where he was a senior vice president in the firm's mergers and acquisitions group. He has worked on deals with NTL, the BBC and Kirch Media.
